I’m a London-based, RTS-winning and Grierson-nominated documentary filmmaker, as well as a journalist and photographer. My documentary work has appeared on the BBC, Netflix and Amazon.

DOCUMENTARY FILM

I have a proven ability to find, develop and execute high-profile stories, uncovering previously ignored narratives to make films with a social and cultural relevance.

I have just finished working on ‘99’ – the definitive story of Manchester United’s treble-winning season in 1999 – a three-part series for Amazon Prime due out in May 2024.

My previous project was the Royal Television Society-winning ‘GAZZA’; an archive-only two-part documentary series on the life and career of Paul Gascoigne, a modern history of British tabloid culture told through the destruction of a sporting icon, which screened in April 2022 to over 2m viewers on BBC Two and iPlayer. GAZZA won the award for ‘Best Documentary Series’ at the 2023 Royal Television Society Awards, and was shortlisted for Best Series and nominated for Best Sports Documentary for the 2022 Grierson Documentary Awards.

My debut film was the independent feature documentary ‘DEATH OF A GENTLEMAN’ which investigated corruption in the administration of world cricket. I produced, co-directed and narrated the film, which was released in UK cinemas in 2015, won a Sports Journalism Award in 2016, helped change policy at the International Cricket Council and was sold to Netflix worldwide. You can read more about it and see the trailer here.

My experience includes directing, producing, development, securing high-level access, self-shooting, fundraising, marketing and distribution.

Prior to documentary I spent six years as a sports journalist with organisations including guardian.co.uk and ESPN.

PHOTOGRAPHY

As a self-taught photographer my style is instinctively documentary, with a focus on candid, artistic images that tell stories and explore social identity through bold use of colour, natural light and (where appropriate) humour.

I use a Fujifilm XT2, and work primarily with vintage prime lenses. Commercially I exhibit and sell prints, and shoot portraiture and documentary style reportage to brief.
